THE MYSTIC SPIRAL: Journey of the Soul by Jill Purce V

Because any description of the absolute must be limited, we can only show it through symbols that directly cut through all the layers and twists of our consciousness.

We can only touch on the depth of these symbols here, but we will constantly refer to them. Each is a unit, be it a point or a circle. Since a symbol cuts through all planes and dimensions, you have to imagine each one three-dimensionally: each circle as a sphere.

The function of symbolism is to go beyond the „limitation of the fragment“~ and to connect the various „parts“ of the whole or the worlds in which these parts manifest themselves; these worlds are successive windings of the spiral. Twist. Each symbol is a switching element on the same frequency to the world above, a vertical bridge between objects vibrating on different levels of reality in the same „cosmic rhythm“. Each symbol is thus linked to its „counterpart“ on the next turn.

In a two-dimensional spiral, a symbol would appear in a new form at each intersection between the radius and the turns, persevering through the different worlds from the densest to the finest level of cosmic manifestation. Like the prisoners in Plato’s cave, we can only see the shadows of the real objects, which in turn are only the manifestation of ideas and archetypes (or immutable entities). That is, even the „archetypes“, not to mention the natural phenomena, are only symbols of metaphysical realities, and even they are „only“ „parts“ of the One Being because of their multitude.
